Sin City - Part 7: The Real View

I hope your as happy as Lori and I am that I was just dreaming in the last two Las Vegas posts; Part 5 and Part 6. Now without further ado, here is the complete video of the view of the Strip from our room on the 16th floor of the Hilton Vacation Club on the Strip in Las Vegas.

Another Sin City HNT

As you know, Lori and I recently went to Sin City. If you didn't know that, "WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN!" Get your ass in gear and check out the Las Vegas posts on my regular blog and catch up.

We loved Las Vegas and believe you me, they don't call it Sin City for nothing. Our first day there we drove up and down the Strip just to check out the place.


Lori saw this SUV and started drooling. Her favorite color is pink.









We didn't have time to check out this place, but it is at the top of our list of place to see on the next trip.









We stopped for a red light and Lori spotted this. We parked in the Fashion Show Mall parking garage and went over to check them out.





Here's a closer look at what she found. Yep, advertisements offering sex of all kinds in your room in 10 minutes or less.

How cool is that?







We each reached in and pulled out the ones we thought were most interesting.








It was perversion gold!










We just picked some out and compared what we each choose when we got back to the room. Among the others, we each picked out a copy of this one. LOL

SIN CITY - PART 5, Scary View

If you've been reading my posts about the vacation Lori and I recently spent in Las Vegas, If you haven't read them, then STOP NOW and go back and read them., I'm sure you've been on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what happened after The Scary HNT. If your not on the edge of your seat, then that means you haven't read my Las Vegas posts and I'm pissed off. So STOP NOW and go back and read them! There will be a test so pay close attention.

Sin City - Part 3, Day 2, The Vacation Club Tour

We arrived at the hotel early Friday morning. The hotel looked first class, but I assumed it would if it was to compete with all the other hotels in Las Vegas.






There was marble everything everywhere.











Check in was at 4:00, but arrived a little early........at noon. They gave us a room right away anyway.










The hall was kind of creepy. We had an interesting experience in the hall the next day, but I'll leave that for another post.










The first thing we did when we got into the room was to take pictures of the room before we messed it up. The room was really nice, but nothing special. It was a lot like all the other newer Hilton hotels I've stayed in.

The second thing we did was make drinks (I packed the gin & tonic) and make a toast to the two love birds destined to have a naughty time in Sin City.

Wait, that was the third thing. We went to the bathroom after taking the pictures.






We were going to get together with Tara this weekend, so next I got online to send her an email to let her know we arrived. We exchanged a few text message and emails and agreed to get together the next night on Saturday.



The free high speed wireless internet access was nice. When we were in San Diego last November we only had free wired access. The old phone landlines suck!

The next day, Saturday, we were scheduled to take the two-hour-tour of the Hilton Grand Vacation Club on the Strip we were staying at. I got the cheap rate for the room when I agreed to take the tour. The vacation clubs are time share condos at Hilton resorts around the world. Right now there are almost forty of them.

The tour of the facility was nice and the salesman was friendly and knowledgeable.



They don't have a restaurant in the hotel, but they have a 24-hour deli. There will be a restaurant in tower three when the build it. They are also going to build a fourth tower. With four, almost 40-floor towers, that's a lot of frigging rooms!



They have a health club, but it's one place I'll probably never go into. Who goes on vacation to spend it in a gym?







The tour was nice and then we sat down for the sales pitch to try and get me to buy a time share. He even said they had an incentive to buy into their time share. I just wanted to get it over with so we get back to touring Sin City. But the guy was good, very good. He made it all sound so attractive. Somewhere during this conversation he asked us, "If you could take a vacation any where in the world, where would it be?" Lori said Hawaii and I agreed. I'd always wanted to go there. (Lori thought that this is the incentive to buy they would offer me.)

It isn't like any other time share I'd ever heard of.

You know how when you buy a time share that you get a week at a certain resort at a certain time of the year? This isn't like that.

You know how they tell you that you can trade your week for another week somewhere other than the place you bought into and are lucky if you can get it when you want? This isn't like that.

This one works with points. So many points a year based on what level you purchase. You can use them at any of these palces, any time there is an available room or suite.

I wouldn't be restricted to just one particular week a year. Nor would I be restricted to any one place. I could vacation at any of the places they offered, anytime I wanted. I could even check into a local hotel for a weekend if I wanted. They have about a dozen different hotel chains.

Damn! I was just about hooked!

Next he asked me if I was interested in talking to his manager. It seems that if I bought in that day, the manager would offer me that "incentive" to buy. I figured it wouldn't hurt to hear what he'd offer, so I said yes. He walked away to get his manager.

I turned to Lori and almost at the same time we said, "This sounds good." I was hooked and being reeled in.

A minute later the manager showed up and we chatted a bit. You know, small talk. Then he says, "I see here that you'd like to go to Hawaii."

I said, "Yes."

He says, "If you buy today, I will give you two free round trip airfares on American Airlines and a week at one of our vacation clubs in Hawaii. What do you say, interested?"

(American Airlines is part of this too. So are every cruise line in the world and many other travel and vacation companies including house boats, including RCI time shares. It's just not Hilton's I am limited too.)

What else could I say but, "Yes."

That's right, I bought a time share at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club on the Strip in Las Vegas. I swore I'd never do that, but I bought it. I am retired, can travel at will and have been taking vacations anyway, so this seemed like a good idea. Besides, I'm actually buying a piece of the vacation club in Las Vegas. I can hand it down in my will, even give it away. I just couldn't see a down side.

The plan I bought was for a two-room suite, for a week in Vegas. That is 5,000 points. If I take a smaller room, like the studio we stayed in, the price in points drops by about half. That would give me two weeks at least. I can even use the points for airfare.

The incentive points I got for the free vacation in Hawaii was for 15,040 points. So I expect that a one-week vacation in Hawaii, in a two-room suite with airfare is expensive.

Does anyone have any idea how much that would cost?

But I'm free to use the incentive points and the 5,000 points I get right away, for any vacation I want. It doesn't have to be Hawaii. Having 20,040 points to start, is a lot of frigging points and a lot of vacation time immediately available to me. If I don't want to use it, or can't, I can bank it for future use.

I just couldn't see the down side to this, can you? Honestly, can you?

Sin City - Part 2, Trip to Las Vegas

Lori and I flew to Sin City last weekend. Our flight was at 7:30 am, so that meant getting up early, 5:00 am. The flight was nonstop and was the most entertaining flight I've ever been on.

The stewardess in this picture was cracking jokes from the minute we got on the plane. About half way to Vegas, she asked the married people having an anniversary to write down one piece of advice for this couple. They were on their way to Vegas to get married. She called the couple up to the front of the plane and handed them "wedding" gifts the staff had made. A veil made from peanut packages, a bouquet made from napkins, a cake made from a roll of toilet paper signed by everyone on the crew and slippers for the bride to be made from sanitary napkins. Then she read the advice from the married couples. Sex often, morning and night, was the most popular suggestion. Everyone got a big laugh from it all.

The fight was seven hours and was the fastest seven hours I've spent in a very long time. We landed in Las Vegas seven hours later at 10:30 their time. Check in time wasn't until 4:00 pm, so I guess we'd just ride around town until then. Instead I drove over to the hotel and see if we could check in early. No problem, they had room ready, so we went right up.

We hung out in the room for awhile then took a drive along the Strip. We had lunch at a Greek place on the food court in the Fashion Show Mall. Then back to the room until it was time for dinner.

We didn't know our way around, so we decided to just stay near the hotel and walk over to the two casinos close by, the Stratosphere and the Sahara. On our way to the Stratosphere, we were approached by a guy begging for money. I just said no and we kept walking. We walked around the casino in the Stratosphere then ate dinner in their Italian restaurant. The service and food were excellent.

We left and on our way to the Sahara, the same guy asked us for money again. Guess he can't take no for an answer. We walked around the Sahara for a while until Lori's feet started hurting. She wore new shoes, which wasn't a good thing to do when walking around a lot. She was hobbling pretty badly by the time we got back to the room caused by this large blister on the bottom of her left foot.

We got changed and sat in bed to watch TV and get in a little snuggling. I was too tired for either one and fell right to sleep. That was at 10:30pm. That may seem early to you, but to us it was 1:30 in the morning and we'd been up for 21 1/2 hours.

SIN CITY - Part 1, HNT

A few months ago, I received a call from the Hilton Grand Vacation Club offering me a 3-day, 2-night stay at any Hilton Grand Vacation Club for just $140. All I had to do was take a 2-hour tour of the facility. I asked her about Las Vegas. She sweetened the deal by offering me a $25 meal credit and $40 in casino credit. I told the woman that I didn't gamble and she told me to just cash the credit in for the money. Basically, the stay would cost me $75 plus airfare. I took them up on the offer and booked a stay at the hotel on the Strip in Las Vegas. I did book an extra day for $109 to make traveling that far worth all the effort.

Last Friday Lori and I flew to Las Vegas for the extended weekend. We arrived at the hotel just before noon on Friday and were given room 1610 in tower 2. The room was a studio room with a wet bar, microwave and small fridge.

What happened in Vegas, stays in Vegas!

Well, not everything. :-)

We made it home safe and sound last night, but the trip wasn't without a few trials and tribulations. I'll fill you in tomorrow after going through and editing some of the over 1,000 pictures we took. Well, Lori took. LOL



BTW, I bought a piece of Vegas while I was there. I tell you all about that too.

Hello from Las Vegas!

We're having an EXCELLENTLY naughty time. Friday we hit up a couple of casinos. Saturday we toured the Strip during the day and met Tara, her lover and their friend John at night. They picked us up at our hotel and we hung out for awhile before going out. We had Mexican food for dinner and then went to a gay bar next to the Green Door to loosen up for that experience. And I do mean experience!

Tomorrow, Monday, we travel for the day to go back home. I'll try to give you a few more details and a few of the 700 picture we took so far. That doesn't even include what we will take tonight or tomorrow.

Have to go and get ready to go out tonight. Dinner, another casino and a show or two. See you soon!

Another Flashback HNT

Once upon a time, in a far off land called Florida, there lived a little boy named Tony. Little Tony was also known by the nickname of Dee Dee. You see, when little Tony was learning to talk, he couldn't say the word 'see' yet, so instead he said 'dee'.

What a dope I am!

As you can see by the count-down counter in the side bar to the right, Lori and I are scheduled to be in Las Vegas in 23 days on November 16th. Everything was set. Reservations were made with the hotel, airlines and rental car. The people we are going to visit when we're there, (Tara and her beau) had us penciled in on their calender so their weekend would be free to jointly find out if Sin City really does live up to the name.

That is until Tara asked me to confirm when we were going to be there. It seems that I left a comment on her blog stating we would be there a week earlier, 11/9 - 11/13. She even found the email I sent her confirming the dates of 11/16 - 11/19.

WTF?

I knew it couldn't be her that was wrong, because I'm a guy and we fuck up things like dates and times A LOT! I also know that my files are organized meticulously, so now I had to confirm the date discrepancy.

I got out of bed (check my email in the AM with my laptop) and check my meticulously organized files for the reservation paperwork for the airlines, hotel and rental car.


I located the paperwork right where I'd left in the meticulously organized pile on the left. I checked the hotel confirmation. It was for 11/9 - 11/13 just as I said in my comment. I checked the airline reservation. WHOOPS! I fucked up! The reservation for the airline was for a week later; 11/16 - 11/19.

I'm bad, because the rental car was reserved for 11/16 - 11/19 too.

So I get on the phone to the hotel and see if they can change the reservation. NOPE! All booked up!

AW CRAP!

No choice but to try and change the airline and rental car reservations. I didn't have much hope for that at this late a date. I knew even if by some miracle the airline would change the reservations, it would cost me a pretty penny to change them at this late a date.

I get on the phone with Southwest and explain my problem to the reservation agent. He checked the records and low and behold, he was able to change the reservations to the same weekend as the hotel reservations! He even saved me $26 because I'm flying about and hour earlier each way.

Next I called the rental car company and they changed the reservation without a problem.

So, Tara, we will definitely be arriving in Las Vegas on Friday 11/9 and leaving on Monday the 13th.

Sin City here we come! I can't wait!

How I ever fucked this up I'll never knows.
